Craig Nelson's Montalcino, Italy workshop The Italian countryside and hilltop towns of Tuscany have inspired artists for centuries and continues to do so today. Beginning August 12th through August 23rd of 2008, Craig Nelson will conduct a painting workshop in Montalcino, Italy. This 10 day workshop will be limited to 20 painters, and will consist of location painting in and around Montalcino. A couple of day painting trips are planned to the rich wine village of Montepulciano, historic Pienza as well as the enchanting town of San Gimignano. Demonstrations, lectures and hands-on instruction will all be an integral part of the workshop, with evenings left for everyone to explore and soak up the wonderful Italian culture of the Tuscan region, or dine with fellow artists. Accommodations Accommodations will be at the beautiful Hotel dei Capitani situated in a unique position in the historic area of Montalcino with a view of the romantic landscape from the Val d’Orcia and Val d’Arbia. The hotel amenities include a cozy breakfast room with a panoramic terrace, bar, TV room, reading room, outdoor swimming pool and an Internet point. Accommodations have a private bathroom with shower and hair dryer, direct dial telephone, heating, individually controlled air conditioning, satellite TV, mini bar, safe and desk. Breakfast will be included daily. Cost Price includes 11 nights accommodations at the Hotel dei Capitani, daily breakfast, workshop fee and excursion fee. Airfare and transportation to Montalcino is not included. A $ 300.00 deposit is required to hold your reservation by March 1st, 2008. There are limited single accommodations available, most rooms will be double occupancy.
